Kuwait of Glory 3 - February 2025

The Women’s Voluntary Society for Community Development, in collaboration with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, organized its national cultural event under the slogan “Kuwait of Glory”, in celebration of the National Days. The event was held over two days, February 23–24, at the Kuwait Library and the historic Red Palace in Al-Jahra.

In her opening remarks, the Society’s Secretary, Dr. Mona Al-Qattan, stated: "The Society has been keen to organize this national celebration for the third consecutive year, as an expression of love for our generous homeland and a commitment to instilling a spirit of loyalty in the hearts of our children and reinforcing our Kuwaiti identity."

She explained that the event had a diverse national and cultural character, featuring beautiful patriotic artworks created out of love for Kuwait by local talents, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, represented by the General Art Supervision Department, and photographer Shatti Al-Shatti.

The event included a tribute segment honoring prominent figures who left a lasting Kuwaiti legacy, including a segment dedicated to esteemed educator and media personality Nouria Al-Farhan. It also featured the revival of an authentic form of Kuwaiti poetry known as “Al-Zuhairi”, presented by poet Adel Al-Zaid, as well as a segment on Kuwaiti proverbs, riddles, and traditional vocabulary delivered by teacher Nouf Salmeen.

The celebration also included a family-oriented cultural program, with competitions for parents and children, a heritage exhibition featuring the participation of several official bodies, a fireworks display, traditional “Ardah” performances, and heritage games that revived cherished Kuwaiti customs and the joyful atmosphere of past National Day celebrations — all aimed at breathing new life into the historic Red Palace in Al-Jahra.
